Evan Yares has made his career in the CAD and engineering software industry for 28 years. A recipient of the CAD Society Joe Greco Community Award, he’s been recognized as a champion for users of CAD and engineering software.
Evan has been a user, reseller, developer, consultant, analyst, and editor. As the first Executive Director for the OpenDWG Alliance (now Open Design Alliance), he was a powerful voice for users’ need to control their CAD data. As a co-founder of Cyon Research and COFES (the Congress on the Future of Engineering Software), he helped bring together visionaries from design, engineering, architectural, development and technology companies to understand the role engineering technology will play in the future.
As WTWH Media’s Senior Editor & Analyst for engineering software and tools, Evan will continue to be an advocate for engineers, designers, and technical professionals, bringing clarity to the noisy and overcrowded world of CAD, CAM, CAE and PLM software.
