The latest version of PTC’s Creo family of design software is here! Come see what’s new inside Creo Parametric 2.0 and how you can double your design productivity! In this webcast, we introduce, demonstrate, compare, and contrast all the major new Creo Parametric capabilities against Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 5.0.
If you’re an existing Pro/ENGINEER or Creo 1.0 user, see for yourself all these new capabilities, including the new modern user experience, streamlined workflows, new surfacing capabilities called Freestyle, improved sketching, working with large assemblies, sheet metal design and much more available in Creo Parametric.
In this webinar you will learn:
- Creo 2.0’s new functionalities and benefits
- Head-to head comparisons of Pro/Engineer, Wildfire 5.0 and Creo Parametric
- Question and answer session with Creo product expert, Todd Kraft

You can say what you want about PTC, but the decision they took to democratize subdivision surface modeling by including it in every base seat is superb!

We can see that larges assemblies are still very slow and difficult to work with. Users here do nothing but complain about performance.
We use the Z400 with 12 GB RAM and upgraded video card.
We are using Creo 1.0
Do we really thing that upgrading to 2.0 would help us? Is it worth the effort. We have 35 users in 5 locations. So the effort to upgrade is not small.
Anuj Saxena says
Long awaited DYNAMIC SECTIONING can now be done in Creo 2.0 with ease.

I agree, Kevin but I don’t think it will help PTC sell new seats of Creo Parametric. I do think it will help convince PTC’s existing user base to upgrade. The problem is that PTC needs to sell seats of Creo to new users! I don’t see that happening until the software gets better / easier to use.
SolidWorks surfacing doesn’t have Sub-D and they got caught out when T-Splines was purchased by Autodesk. I hope that SolidWorks is going to commit to working with IntegrityWare because I’m sure SolidWorks surfacing users would like to be able to use Sub-D surfacing inside of SolidWorks.

Seems like it would be a good thing to attend the webinar, and ask them about large assembly performance.
Evan Yares says
Creo 2.0 is better/easier to use. I think PTC is headed the right direction. Question is, when will they hit the threshold where significant numbers of new users like what they see.
Kevin De Smet says
The thing is, Dassault doesn’t need T-Splines tech, they already have subdivision technology in CATIA.
The problem is they seem to think it’s ‘so glorious’ that it’s worth a whole lot of money.
We can only hope they get themselves together and include atleast most of it in SWV6. Catia should excell at being more process driven, modeling technology isn’t really about that goal at all.
